Why are we always chasing happiness?
On March 9, 2019, a panel of experts will convene at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills to delve into The Happiness Puzzle, a multidisciplinary exploration of happiness viewed through the lens of scientific research, psychoanalysis, poetry, the arts, and entrepreneurship. The morning program features presentations by happiness expert Sonja Lyubomirsky, PhD, U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith, MFA, and renowned psychoanalyst Glen Gabbard, MD, who will share their expertise and experiences illuminating aspects of the puzzle and examine why the goal of happiness is so important for life fulfillment, creating deep and lasting relationships, and living creatively.
During the afternoon session, several new voices from additional disciplines will join the morning presenters for a panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Gabbard, to share their narratives as we deepen our understanding of the relationship between happiness, resiliency, depression, gratitude, and creativity.
We expect this conference to inspire conversations that continue in our clinical settings, work sites, schools, personal relationships, and into the community at large.
