If you missed the June 8 Annual Meeting, you missed something special. This year, I asked board members to speak from their hearts about their experience in keeping their programs and divisions running under the stressful conditions in this last COVID year.  I think most of us on the board felt supported by each of us as we handled difficult situations to keep our organization afloat. The staff and the board worked hand in hand to keep classes going, figuring out Zoom, and offering programs to an even wider audience. We were able to accomplish a lot. The Strategic Planning Committee worked with the board to create a mission and vision statement that will help guide us for the next few years. The board approved a renovation of the building after two years of discussions within the board, Strategic, EC, and membership. With expenses down because we were all on Zoom, we saved money. In fact, the programs we put on made more money than ever before. I hope members take the time to tell board members how grateful you are for their hard and dedicated work. I have the privilege of working with this board again and I look forward to what we will accomplish in these next couple of years. Please read the reports (attached here) from each of the board members if you didn’t get a chance last month. I am sure you will be as impressed and proud of them for what they have accomplished this past year as I have been.
