On March 23, the inaugural Morris Eagle Psychoanalytic Research Lecture was launched, presented by honoree Beatrice Beebe, PhD, and celebrating the career and contributions of Morris Eagle, PhD. More than 100 attendees–including NCP members, students, and national/international colleagues–participated via Zoom.

Dr. Beebe presented her foundational research on infant-maternal child recognition/ communication and implications for establishing attachment and applications to later adult treatment. Celeste Schneider, PhD, Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California faculty member, presented an enlightening discussion.

Dr. Eagle’s wide-ranging and outstanding contributions to psychoanalytic theory and research were reviewed and presented by his longtime colleagues Chris Christian, PhD, Editor-in-Chief of the journal Psychoanalytic Psychology, and Jerome Wakefield, PhD, author and NYU Professor. Attendees submitted challenging questions for further inquiry and research. A positive beginning, we hope, for this NCP event in the years to come.
