During the past year, NCP teaching faculty have been privileged to have had the opportunity to contribute to the adult and child psychiatry curriculum at the Charles Drew School of Medicine in Los Angeles.

Following a series of preliminary discussions with CDU Psychiatry Residency Directors Anish Dube (Adult) and Amy Wood (Child) and NCP Faculty–Bart Blinder, Joe Verrone, and Jeff Prager–it was agreed to explore and develop future possibilities for faculty appointment, teaching affiliation, and course contributions.

Meetings will continue with full support of our NCP Education Committee and Board. To date, 20 hours of virtual instruction by NCP faculty have been contributed with very positive reception by the CDU psychiatry residents and fellows and full support of the staff. (CDU faculty have been enrolled in our NCP teaching programs.)

NCP faculty (Katharine Gould, Anita Saunders, Deborah Lynn, Sandra Landen, Joe Verrone, Jeff Prager, and Bart Blinder) have contributed courses on psychoanalytic psychotherapy, child development (infancy/mid-childhood/adolescence), play therapy, work with parents, and eating disorders.

We are encouraged that tangible projects like NCP/CDU will grow our NCP access and connection to the wider community of professional colleagues, students, and the patients they serve.
