Search New Center for Psychoanalysis

Our board meeting this month was devoted to a discussion about setting board goals for 2021-2022. We also addressed several issues facing NCP: 

• Unfilled leadership positions on the board and on some committees
• Establishing a search team to create a job description for the new executive director, interviewing, and eventually selecting a person to fulfill that role
• Contingency plans re: if BPPE does not approve another two-year exemption, and additional challenges we may face with the new (Jan. 2023) legislation 
• Creating an orientation for new board members

After identifying the areas that need addressing, it was recommended that we hold several longer meetings on Sunday mornings to continue these discussions. The board is working well and our discussions are very engaging and interesting. Members of the board supported the importance of board education to enable board members to have discussions about potential changes in the way the organization operates and runs its programs. We scheduled our first board retreat for Sunday, August 29.
