NCP Member-Only Blog > April 2021 Board Meeting Summary
We were pleased to host three members of the ACPEinc Site Visit Team at our Board meeting this month. The Board is asking all committees to prepare a budget for 2021-2022 estimating their expenses and income so the Board can determine how to allocate funds in the coming year. Each year the Board allocates 4% of our investment profits to use to support the running of the Institute. That amount is determined in late spring and monies are then allocated to the different departments. At the April Board meeting, the Archive Committee was invited to give a summary of the work they have been doing and plan to do in the coming year. Jimmy Fisher, Esther Dreifuss-Kattan, Joe Aguayo, Dick Weiss, and Agnes Regeczkey gave a detailed overview of the work that the Archivist, Dr. Vladimir Melamed, has been doing the past two years. The presentation was extremely helpful in our understanding of how to help support our archive work in the coming year.
David Thompsen gave a Mission Moment remembering his experience in working with Sue Peck and team on the Happiness Conference. He was quite impressed that NCP could create a conference inviting poets and psychoanalytic scholars to talk on this important elusive subject. The Strategic Planning Committee presented a timeline for our search for a new Executive Director. The Board will form a group that will oversee this process. Policy and procedures for programming and scholarships are being revised and presented to the Board next month. The Board received an update on the building renovation project. A special update is included in this newsletter that describes more of what we have planned. Check it out.
