Newsfeed > NCP Member Meiram Bendat to Speak at County Mental Health Event
LA kicks off Mental Health Awareness Month with a call-to-action event Sunday in downtown Los Angeles. NCP member Meiram Bendat, a tireless advocate for mental health care access, will be speaking alongside Patrick J. Kennedy and others as the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and fellow local, state, and national leaders come together to build a movement to knock down barriers to access. This convening kicks off a series of Mental Health Month events specifically aimed at supporting youth aged 14-24 to move from talking about mental health to taking action.
Speakers will address barriers that prevent individuals from accessing care and steps we need to collectively take to create an environment necessary for wellbeing. Join Patrick J. Kennedy, President of The Kennedy Forum; Congresswoman Grace Napolitano; Mayor Darrell Steinberg and Dr. Jonathan E. Sherin as they come together to address topics including criminal justice reform, access to care, and youth civic engagement--and issue a call for action.
