Bio/Background:

Dr. Michele Gomes splits her time between her two passions: working with adults and couples in her private practice and serving as the Executive Director of Wright Institute Los Angeles, a non-profit psychoanalytic training center and community clinic. Dr. Gomes did her undergraduate studies at UCLA where she majored in Psychology and Women’s Studies with a specialization in computer programming. She spent several years post graduation at the UCLA School of Public Health participating in epidemiological research related to the intersections between sociocultural variables and mental health. She earned Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology degrees from the California School of Professional Psychology. She found her clinical and theoretical home at WILA during her two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. At NCP, she teaches, sits on the Board of Directors, and is active on many committees including being a founding Co-Chair of the Committee on Diversities and Sociocultural Issues.
