Garret Wyner, PhD, PhD, PsyDPsychologist
In addition to having a private practice in Studio City, I am an adjunct Associate Professor in the MFT/PsyD program at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a faculty member at the New Center for Psychoanalysis. With doctorates in Philosophy, Psychology and Psychoanalysis, and a primary interest in ethics and practical philosophical theology, my research and writing are primarily centered on ethical transformation in accordance with the classical philosophical goal of realizing a good or more compassionate life. My orientation is cross-disciplinary and psychologically integrative (humanistic/existential, transpersonal, psychoanalytic, CBT), and practical. I believe we desperately need a more open-minded and open-hearted “beginner’s mind” orientation to life that can alone unveil a sense in which, despite our fears to the contrary, reality at its core is good. Such a vision, I believe, will enable us to appreciate the unique role each of us has to play in helping a world in desperate need for healthy change.Back to profile
