Bio/Background:

Edward Shafranske, Ph.D., ABPP, FIPA, is in private practice and serves as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences (Voluntary) Keck School of Medicine of USC. For over 35 years, Dr. Shafranske was Professor of Psychology, Muriel Lipsey Chair in Clinical and Counseling Psychology at Pepperdine University and directed its doctoral program in clinical psychology. He has published widely and conducts clinical research in clinical supervision and the applied psychology of religion. He is a fellow of APA (and Divisions 12, 29, 36) and the International Psychoanalytical Association, and twice served as president of the APA Society for the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality. Dr. Shafranske is board-certified in psychoanalysis (ABPP) and psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy (ABPPP), has published over 75 articles/chapters and 10 books, is on eight editorial boards. He serves as the co-chair of NCP's Research Committee.
