Film and Mind: "Hotel by the River"

In the cold of winter, snow covers and distills the earth. Award-winning director Sang-Soo Hong explores in this movie aging, relationships, death and desire. Poet Yeong Hwan (Joo-bong Ki) calls his two sons (Hae-Hyo Kwon and Jun-Sang Yu) to meet up with him. Meanwhile he runs into two young women (Min-Hee Kim and Sun-Mi Song) who were also staying at the hotel.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the theme and various emotional states portrayed by the characters
- Compare and contrast culturally specific emotional experiences and expressions with universally shared human emotions
