images/091225_F_M-Presence_image.jpgFilmed entirely from the perspective of an unseen supernatural entity, PRESENCE (2024) is an American supernatural thriller drama, directed by Steven Soderbergh. Tiger Mom meets Dead Mother Complex in this dysfunctional family. Uncomfortably invested in the success of her son while she is seemingly indifferent to her daughter, Rebecca, played by Lucy Lui delivers a standout performance.

The film explores themes of grief, family dysfunction, protective instincts, and the lingering presence of trauma through an innovative narrative structure.
