Barnet Malin, MD, will present "the Dream of the Underground Operating Room."
Barnet D Malin is a psychoanalyst and psychiatrist in Santa Monica, CA. He earned a BA from Brown University, and an MD from Columbia University. He served his medical internship at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, his psychiatry residency at UCLA, and took his psychoanalytic training at the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. He is senior faculty and a Supervising and Training Analyst at NCP and the Psychoanalytic Center of California, a member of APsaA and the IPA, is board certified in psychiatry, and certified in psychoanalysis by APsaA and the ABP. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA, and teaches at the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine, the UCLA psychiatry residency, and at NCP and PCC. He has presented original work locally, nationally and internationally, and has authored and co-authored professional papers and books. His forthcoming book, Questioning Bion’s O Concept, will be published by Routledge.
This informal event typically meets on the first Tuesday evening of each month and is intended for psychology/social work graduate students, psychiatry residents, and mental health professionals interested in the psychoanalytic training programs at the New Center for Psychoanalysis.
- This meeting takes place on Zoom. Please join us at 7:45 pm. We will divide into break-out rooms for an informal hello and chat. Then at 8pm the presentation will begin.
- The presentations typically include clinical case information. Due to the confidentiality of the material presented, we request attendees leave their video ON during the entire presentation so we can monitor who is in attendance. Those with their video off will be removed from the meeting.
