The Relational Anatomy of the Self

March 18, 2021, 7:30 - 9:30 PM

This meeting will take place online via Zoom. Once you register, you will receive an email with the link and more information.

*** Registration will close at 4:00 PM the day of the event. No registrations are possible after this time.

Three qualities constitute the essentials of the optimally actualized self of this era. These three functional structures are Presentness, Deep Intuition, and Compatibility of Contradiction. They can be conceived as the basic structures of the self. Since the self is a crucial part of the relational world, it is appropriate to propose a relational anatomy of the self.

These three forces are expressions of love. Human love has evolved inseparably from the self. The healthy self at this stage of human evolution is a loving self, and these three functional elements are necessary to develop core loving relationships through which each of us achieves a unique self.

The three elements are utterly interdependent and interpenetrating. When the inhibitions of self have been adequately reduced through life experience, notably including analytic therapy, this triad enables the person to enjoy creative living, inseparable from optimized relational life.

Pertinent clinical material is included.
