Voting Information for the Upcoming APsaA February 2021 Election

Dear APsaA Voting Members,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the APsaA 2021 National Meeting will be held as a virtual experience with the Meeting of Members being held via Zoom on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET.  Information on how to join the virtual Meeting of Members via Zoom will be provided in advance of the meeting.  A dial-in option will also be provided for members who do not have access to video conferencing.

APsaA will once again use the services of an electronic voting company during the APsaA February 2021 Election. The company will oversee the mailing and return of the proxy ballots and proxy forms, tally all ballots and verify the results.

In accordance with Article V, Section 4 of the Association's Bylaws, each Member of the Association eligible to vote will have one vote at all Meetings of Members, and may cast his/her vote in person or by proxy (online or postal mail). Only voting members in good standing on December 1, 2020 are eligible to vote.

For this election, voting members will vote on the next Secretary of the Association and two individuals for the office of Director-at-Large.  Candidate Members of the Association will also vote for one individual to serve as a Candidate Director-at-Large on the Board of Directors.

Voting members will also vote on one proposed amendment to the Bylaws of the Association: Changing Member Commentary Period on Revisions of IRRC and MRRC Policies and Procedures from 90 to 30 days.

CANDIDATES FOR OFFICE:

Serving as the Nominating Committee, the Executive Council has nominated the following members to run for office:

For Secretary: Bonnie J. Buchele and Sally J. Rosenberg. The candidate receiving the most votes cast will be elected to a two-year term (June 2021-June 2023).

For Director-at-Large: Sandra J. Landen, Timothy H. Rayner, Beverly J. Stoute and M. Jane Yates. The two candidates receiving a majority of the votes cast will be elected to a four-year term (June 2021-June 2025).

For Candidate Director-at-Large: Mariela G. Shibley and Gerard Sobnosky. The candidate receiving the most votes cast will be elected to a two-year term (June 2021-June 2023).

DEADLINE FOR VOTING

Unless you plan to vote in person at the APsaA Virtual 2021 National Meeting of Members via Zoom on Sunday, February 7, 2021 (2:00-3:00 pm ET):

-- your ONLINE irrevocable proxy ballot and form must be completed and submitted to Survey & Ballot Systems by 5:00 PM ET on Monday, February 1, 2021.

-- your POSTAL MAIL irrevocable proxy ballot and form must be received at the APsaA National Office by 5:00 PM ET on Monday, February 1, 2021.


DISTRIBUTION OF VOTING MATERIALS

All Voting Members WITH an Email Address on File at the National Office will receive their voting materials electronically from the voting firm.

On or around January 4, 2021, you will receive an email from the voting firm, "APsaA Election Coordinator <noreply-directvote.net>,  Subject: APsaA February 2021 Election Login Information Below", with information and instructions on how to log into the online voting site.  The email will include your APsaA Member Number and the unique Election Passcode generated and provided by the voting firm.  You will need both pieces of information in order to cast your vote online.  Please note that you cannot access the voting site from the APsaA website or any of APsaA's online communities. 

All Voting Members WITHOUT an Email Address on File at the National Office may request their voting materials via postal mail from the APsaA National Office.

On or around January 4, 2021, voting members without an email address on file at the National Office who requested paper ballots will be sent voting materials via postal mail.
