Earl De Guzman, MD is a practicing psychiatrist based in Pasadena, CA. Born in Manila, Philippines, and raised in Fremont, CA, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of California, Davis. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. Dr. De Guzman moved to Los Angeles to complete his Psychiatry residency at the University of Southern California/LAC+USC Medical Center, where he served as the Chief Resident of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service. During his residency, he also participated in the two-year Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at the Psychoanalytic Center of California. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Stanford Hospital. His primary area of interest lies at the intersection of psychoanalysis and philosophy, in addition to psychosomatic illness and mental health care among Asian American patients.
