Bio/Background:

I'm Brenda. I am a Psychoanalyst. I started on this path by pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I honed my taste for clinical work with a Master's Degree in Psychotherapy and later on, by completing formal Psychoanalytic Training through one of the International Psychoanalytic Association's programs. Why psychoanalysis? Because the richness of our individuality and subjectivity is lost in the generalities of psychology. Because psychoanalysis collects the threads that weave the meaning and effect of our individual experiences and our more-or-less creative ways of coping with them. Because it is exciting for me to discover and collect that unique story of each patient from the relationship they inaugurate with me as their analyst.

In addition to providing psychotherapy and psychoanalytic treatment for adolescents, adults and couples around emotional, relational and mental health difficulties, I find special meaning in accompanying women and men in their complex journey towards and during parenthood. I believe in the human and social value of opening spaces of emotional support precisely for those who support -or will support- not only the beginnings of a life but all the seeds of the psychic and affective development of a new being. Potential spaces where they, in turn, can understand and process the multiple tolls such a journey implies for them. In this commitment out-loud I offer individual and couples sessions, consultations and therapeutic groups where the elaborative word takes the central role.

I am located in Glendora, California, providing in-person and online clinical services.
