Bio/Background:

I am a psychoanalyst/psychiatrist with interests in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Object Relations Theory, the work of D.W. Winnicott, Relational Psychoanalysis, psychiatric diagnosis, and the impact of anxiety on self-esteem, relational issues, and the overall well-being of children, adolescents, and adults. In addition, I have extensive experience treating and supervising mental health professionals who treat people suffering from narcissism, trauma, dissociation, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I primarily offer weekly to more intensive psychoanalytic treatment. I mostly prescribe medications to help patients be more able to engage fully in their lives and in psychotherapy. Presently, I am the Chief Academic Officer and the Chair of the IAC (Inter-Analytic Conference) Committee at the New Center. In the past I have served as Co-Dean of Training and Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Training Program and am a Training and Supervising Analyst and a Child and Adolescent Supervising Analyst at the New Center. I am also an Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine.
