Bio/Background:
I am a licensed psychotherapist and psychoanalyst with over three decades of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I completed my psychoanalytic training and PsyD at the Psychoanalytic Center of California, where I subsequently served as senior faculty and president of the Faculty Senate. My earlier training includes an MSW from New York University (1986), and my clinical work has always been informed by a systems orientation alongside depth psychology.
My practice is grounded in British Object Relations — a framework that attends to how early relational experience and unconscious internal structure shape the way we love, suffer, and make meaning. I work with grief, identity, creative impasse, and the recurring emotional patterns that bring people into analysis. As a member of the New Center for Psychoanalysis, I continue to bring my clinical practice into ongoing dialogue with the broader psychoanalytic community.
In sessions, I listen for what arrives softly or remains just out of reach — the tangled or half-formed aspects of experience that often carry the most meaning. Through free association, dream work, and sustained attention to the therapeutic relationship, I support work that is organic, in-depth, and lasting.
