 \nThe Assistant (2020) (1 hr 27 min) Jane, a recent college graduate and
  aspiring film producer, just landed her dream job as a junior assistant
  to a powerful entertainment mogul. Her day is much like any other assis
 tant -- making coffee, ordering lunch, arranging travel accommodations a
 nd taking phone messages. But as Jane follows her daily routine, she gr
 ows increasingly aware of the abuse that insidiously colors every aspect
  of her workday, an accumulation of degradations against which she decid

 eporting micro-aggressions to you in a psychotherapy session\n\n* Using 
 this film as an example, define the defense, “identification with the 
 aggressor” and contrast with “externalization of the self"\n\n-- Dis
 cussants: --\n\nSidonie Freeman, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologi
 st and Psychoanalyst in private practice in Beverly Hills. Dr. Freeman i
 s an Adjunct Professor at The Chicago School for Professional Psychology
 , Los Angeles, and she also maintains a Supervisory position at the Wrig
 ht Institute, Los Angeles. She is the President of The Foundation of LAC
 PA, the non-profit and benevolent arm of the Los Angeles County Psycholo
 gical Association which has regularly sponsored educational and skill bu
 ilding opportunities for those entering into and already in the mental h
 ealth field. Dr. Freeman is the Chair of the Admissions Committee at the
  New Center for Psychoanalysis (NCP), as well as Chair of the Clinical M
 oments Committee, which facilitates and spreads awareness of the value o
 f psychoanalysis within the community.\n\nFredrick Edo-Okuonghae, PsyD, 
 LMFT, is a second-year candidate at NCP in the Adult/Child and Adolescen
 t programs. He works primarily with children and adolescents, along with
  high-level professionals in sport and performance-based fields at a pri
 vate practice located in West Los Angeles. He also runs groups for schoo
 ls and organizations throughout the state of California. He is adjunct f
 aculty at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. He
  is the California diversity delegate for the American Psychological Ass
 ociation and a board member of the California Psychological Association.
