Themes include intergenerational trauma, paranoia, radicalization, political extremism, and the psychological toll of activism and parenting under threat.

As a result of attending this session, participants should be able to:
- Summarize how psychodynamic aspects of identity (political beliefs, personal history and relationships) are influenced by the stress of assumed identity and loss of community through ego fragmentation, true and false self dichotomies and restoration of coherent narrative.
- Discuss generational transmission of parental hypervigilance, family secrets and chronic fear states in children who have not directly experienced social persecution.
- Explain the difference between symptoms arising from individual trauma history versus those stemming from group identification and collective loss.
