The majority of patients with major depression do not achieve full remission using traditional treatm ents. More effective treatments are needed for this condition. Psychodyn amic psychotherapy offers methods that respond to personality factors an d other unconscious processes that contribute to treatment resistance. A s part of this presentation, Dr. Allan Abbass demonstrates through treat ment videos and reviews findings of a new study of intensive short-term psychodynamic therapy credited with achieving high remission rates in a complex population of patients.
