We at the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles are in an especially privileged position to initiate the year of celebration of this special Anniversary.

The Evening will consist of two parts:

PRESENTATION OF FILM

The presentation of a short documentary film commissioned by the IPA as the Official Anniversary film to be used world-wide for the Year of Celebrations. This film was narrated by our own Dr. Leo Rangell.

A CONVERSATION WITH LEO RANGELL

Dr. Rangell will comment on the film and his leadership experiences with the IPA for over half a century. He will briefly discuss issues, controversies and views relevant to the history of the field, and the mutual influences between the members and their International Association.

Each President brings his own world view. Dr. Rangell will reflect on what his involvement with the IPA has added to his own career and orientation as well as to his lifetime appreciation of the concept of psychoanalysis.

This will be followed by a discussion and free-ranging exchange with the audience.
