The Clinic of the New Center for Psychoanalysis provides low fee psychoanalysis for qualifying individuals. The New Center for Psychoanalysis is an accredited training institute for mental health professionals and academics seeking advanced study in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis. These Clinical Associates take analytic cases under the supervision of New Center Training Analysts as part of their curriculum.
The training cases are carefully selected on the basis of "analyzability," financial need and commitment to the time and attention required for the analytic process. Analysis requires four times per week sessions for at least one and a half years.
The process begins with a call to the Clinic Administrator at 310.478.6541 ext. 17. If eligible, an applicant then completes the Center's application form and participates in an evaluation interview. There is a $100 fee to apply.
